IMDi gives advice to employers on issues concerning inclusion in the workplace and job placement arrangements and it cooperates with the municipalities on finding jobs for immigrants.

The Directorate has the role of driving force in relation to recruitment officers in Norwegian workplaces and it encourages the recruitment of people from immigrant backgrounds. IMDi has also placed minority women and employment on the agenda.
The Directorate encourages network-building among women in order to contribute to increased employment among women from minority backgrounds.
